Every trader knows the pattern. You journal diligently for two weeks, then you have a busy Friday, skip three trades, and tell yourself you'll backfill them over the weekend. You don't. A month later the journal has holes in it, the stats are lying to you, and the whole habit quietly dies.
The problem was never discipline. The problem is that manual entry is a tax on every single trade, and taxes compound. So in 5.8 we removed the tax.
TradeZap 5.8 introduces Broker Auto-Sync: connect your brokerage once, and your trades import themselves.
The Trading Journal That Fills Itself
Here's how it works. In TradeZap, tap Connect Broker, pick your brokerage from the list, and sign in through a secure connection portal. That's the whole setup. From then on, your stock, options, and crypto trades flow into your journal automatically. New fills typically appear by the next trading day, and a Sync Now button pulls them on demand whenever you want to check.
Imported trades are real journal entries, not a separate read-only feed. They land in the same trade history, the same P&L calendar, and the same analytics as everything you've logged by hand. Multi-leg options positions are grouped correctly, duplicates are skipped, and each trade carries a badge showing which broker it came from. You add the parts only you know: the strategy tag, the emotional state, the note about why you took the trade.
That last part matters. Auto-sync doesn't replace journaling, it removes the data entry so you can spend your attention on the review, which is the part that actually makes you better.
300+ Brokerages, One Connection Flow
Broker Auto-Sync works with more than 300 brokerages, including the ones where most active traders actually keep their accounts:
- Stocks and options: Robinhood, Charles Schwab, Webull, Fidelity, E*TRADE, Interactive Brokers, Tastytrade, Public, moomoo
- Crypto: Coinbase, Binance, Kraken
If your broker isn't on the list, the CSV importer is still there, with auto-detection for major U.S. broker formats and a generic template that works with any export.
Read-Only, By Design
Connecting a brokerage account to anything should make you pause, so here is exactly what the connection can and cannot do:
- TradeZap can see your trades. That's it. The connection is read-only at the permission level, not as a policy promise.
- TradeZap can never place orders, move funds, or change anything in your brokerage account.
- Your login credentials never touch our servers. You authenticate directly with your brokerage through the connection portal.
- You can disconnect anytime, from TradeZap's settings or from your brokerage's own security page. Your imported trades and notes stay in your journal.

Aura Gets Better Data
Aura, TradeZap's AI coach, is only as good as the journal she reads. A journal with holes in it produces coaching with holes in it. With auto-sync keeping your history complete, questions like "what's my real win rate this quarter?" and "which setups actually make me money?" get answers based on all of your trades, not just the ones you remembered to log.
What About Futures and Kalshi?
Auto-sync covers stocks, options, and crypto today. Futures and Kalshi prediction markets still get logged the fast manual way, a few seconds per trade in the quick-add flow. They remain first-class asset classes everywhere else in the app: same calendar, same stats, same Aura coaching.
Also in 5.8
- Broker badges on trade cards, so you always know which trades came from which account
- A cleaner target icon for Strategies (the flame now means streaks, and only streaks)
- Aura chat handles open positions and imported trades more gracefully
- Bug fixes and performance improvements across the app
