This article describes an earlier release; pricing, free access and feature claims below may be outdated. iOS now offers Basic ($5.99/month or $39.99/year), Premium ($19.99/month or $119.99/year), and Ultimate ($29.99/month or $199.99/year), in USD. Premium includes the scanner and on-demand broker sync; Ultimate adds ongoing AI Trade Analysis, full Aura chat and weekly AI reports. Trials depend on the selected product and account eligibility. See current plans and what’s new in iOS 6.9. Android availability may differ.

The last product update we wrote was for 5.8, when broker sync arrived. Seven releases later, TradeZap looks different enough that a single roundup is overdue. The short version: it is now an all-in-one trading journal. Trades get in with less typing, open positions and broker balances live next to the journal, and the market context you check before a trade sits on the same Home screen.

Here is what changed, in the order most people will notice it.

Scan a Trade Instead of Typing It

The AI Trade Scanner takes a screenshot of one filled order or one closed trade from your broker app and turns it into a draft journal entry. Pick the screenshot, confirm you want it analyzed, and TradeZap prefills the symbol, direction, quantity, and prices it can read. You review the draft, fill in anything it missed, and save. Nothing is saved without you looking at it first.

A few honest limits: the scanner reads one order or trade at a time, it is not a bulk history importer, and it does not scan the market for ideas. Vertical spreads and prediction-market contracts still use manual entry. Scanning is included with Pro.

Your Broker's Holdings, Right on Home

Broker sync now shows what your brokerage reports, not just the trades it imported. Connected accounts appear on Home, Portfolio, and Trades with their reported balance and holdings, options included, each stamped with the time of the last sync and the broker's own data timestamp. A Sync button on the Home card pulls fresh data whenever you want it; the app no longer syncs on every launch.

Manual trades stay separate from broker snapshots, so a position you logged yourself is never mixed into a balance your broker reported. The connection is still read-only: TradeZap cannot place orders or move funds, and you can disconnect from Settings at any time. Supported brokerages include Robinhood, Charles Schwab, Webull, Fidelity, E*TRADE, Interactive Brokers, Tastytrade, Public, moomoo, Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken; available history and freshness depend on the broker.

With scanning and broker sync covering the capture side, CSV import has been retired. Manual entry and Broker Connect replace it.

Home Is Now a Market Desk

Home has three sections: Feed, News, and Watchlist. Feed keeps the familiar cards. News is a grid of market headlines with real article photos, covering indices, commodities, crypto, and rates. Watchlist lists the symbols you follow with prices and daily changes.

Under the watchlist cards runs a market ticker for the major indices, oil, gold, silver, bitcoin, ether, solana, and the 10-year Treasury yield. Below it, Market Pulse tints each instrument by the day's move so you can read the tape at a glance. A portfolio card shows the value of your open stock and crypto positions, with unrealized P&L when you are on Pro.

Tap any symbol to open its sheet: price and daily change, a daily-close chart over one month to one year, the latest headlines, and a Log a trade button that drops you straight into the journal. Free accounts follow the default NVDA, TSLA, and BTC list. Pro accounts choose and reorder 3 to 10 stock or crypto symbols, and the first three feed the Home cards and Market Pulse.

A Trades Tab Built for Review

The P&L calendar moved from Home to its own Trades tab, where every journal surface now lives. Calendar shows daily results with weekly totals, and tapping a day lists the trades behind it. Open shows your positions with current prices and a sort menu. Closed shows history under month headers with filters for wins, losses, and asset class, plus search by symbol, strike, or playbook. Your trading rules sit in a row at the top, and a floating button logs a new trade from anywhere in the tab.

Portfolio Value Over Time

The Portfolio tab leads with a line chart of your portfolio value over one month, three months, six months, or a year. The line combines the market value of your open stock and crypto positions with the realized P&L of every closed trade, options, futures, and prediction markets included, so a journal made only of closed trades still has a line to look at. Current valuation and unrealized P&L are part of Pro.

Built for Options Traders

Vertical spreads are first-class positions. Log bull call, bear call, bull put, and bear put spreads with each leg's entry and exit, and TradeZap shows the combined P&L, net debit or credit, maximum profit, maximum loss, and breakeven at expiration. A spread appears as one position while keeping its two legs. Saving spreads is a Pro feature; single-leg calls and puts remain available to everyone.

Every Market, One Journal

Stocks, options, futures, crypto, and prediction markets share one trading journal, one calendar, and one set of analytics. Prediction-market contracts are logged as Yes/No positions with the market ticker from Kalshi, Polymarket, or wherever you trade them, entry and exit prices in cents, and one-tap shortcuts for a 100-cent win or a zero-cent loss.

A New Look in Both Modes

The app moved to a frosted-glass design: violet glass surfaces in dark mode and a cool paper palette in light mode, with an Appearance setting to follow the system or pick one. Shareable trade cards were redrawn in the same material, with controls to hide dollar amounts and position size before you post them.
